ITU's Amateur Radio Handbook 2026 is now available

Amateur and amateur-satellite services Handbook Featuring EURAO, you can find the current revision of the "Handbook on Amateur and amateur-satellite services", edited by the ITU, ready to download, at the moment only in English, Spanish and French. Its previous version dated back to 2014.

This is the result of the work carried out by the Working Party 5A (WP 5A), and specifically in the Working Group 5A-5 (WG 5A-5), in whose revision EURAO participated as a member of the ITU-R.

The scope of this Handbook is to provide general information about amateur and amateur-satellite services, including a compendium of existing ITU texts of relevance to amateur and amateur-satellite services.

This Handbook is intended to present, in one document, information about amateur services for administrations and amateur radio organizations.

HAM RADIO 2026 This gathering was special once again, as we returned with a completely new team and, once more, with specific goals.

The RadioStiinta Association/EURAO team consisted of the children: YO9LMP, Calin, and YO9RYI, Rares, and on the adult side we were represented by two amateur radio operators: YO9AJM, Cristi, (who had just received his license), and YO9RIJ, Petrica!

Going International With a Foundation or Intermediate License nuevo

HAM RADIO 2026 By M0YGL: "Many will tell you it's impossible, but, believe it or not, operating internationally without full license, e.g using a Foundation or Intermediate license, is indeed actually possible!"

"You can not just rock up in Spain and start to operate, you first need to obtain permission from the Spanish Ministry which can be a bit of a challenge. Thankfully there is an organisation called FEDI-EA who make this process much easier and accessible to non Spanish speakers..."

Ireland: EURAO participated in the review of the amateur radio exam nuevo

ComReg This summer, sponsored by ComReg and conducted by a consultancy firm, the Irish members of EURAO provided their opinions and suggestions regarding what amateur radio examinations should look like in the future in that country.

Valuable information was also provided on how these exams operate in other countries and the state of amateur radio there.

We hope this input proves beneficial for everyone.
